Northern Michigan Log Siding Remodel Project
The owner of this Northern Michigan home wanted an authentic log siding
look. He spent a couple of years researching his options and
understood how important it was to make the right choice. He operates
a small engine repair business in the back portion of his property and has a
lot of traffic around his home. What he didn't want was an obvious log siding look.
He wanted it to appear that his home was a full stack log home, not simply a
home with log siding on it.
The interesting part of this
story is that he is only 5 miles from the e-log factory. It may seem a
simple decision being so close, but we spent a considerable amount of time
with the home owner before he made his selection. He choose the 12"
e-log log siding system giving him the look of a 12" diameter full stack log
home. We are all happy,
including the owner that he chose the e-log log siding system.
As you can see, there is work
yet to be done on the home project. The e-log still needs to have the
final two coats of e-Stain applied, cultured stone will be applied on the
lower level and work will be completed on the deck. When the winter
breaks work will continue, but in the meantime, everyone is pleased with the
results. Even though the project is not yet complete, the home owner
is ecstatic that he has already seen a reduction in his heating costs with
the addition of the energy efficient e-log log siding system.
After the long and cold winter this year in Michigan, we were very pleased with the energy savings reported by the homeowner. Even though he didn't have the finished stain completed the e-log went to work saving energy. The homeowner reported "From November until April I burned 1 1/2 tanks of propane compared to the 2 1/2 from the previous year".
Be sure to stop back on the
site later this spring and summer to see the final project...
